A Salute to Our Confreres
Thank you for your steadfast commitment to helping
the Achievers to become the best they can be.
About our Confreres – Our Confreres are men who serve as mentors to our Achievers
by volunteering their time during our Achiever season that begins in December and ends in
April. Our Confreres share their experiences, knowledge and talents with our Achievers in
group workshop sessions coordinated by the Achievement Trust and The Angel City (CA)
Chapter of The Links, Incorporated Confrere Committee.
Currently, there are over 40 men serving as Confreres, in various professions including
medicine, education, law, business, law enforcement, real estate and entertainment. Our
confreres are dedicated to the Achiever program, and we can boast that over 75% of our
confreres serve more than one year, and approximately 15% have been Confreres for more
than 30 years.
This year, our chair, Raimarie Hughes, recruited the very best to be mentors for our
Achievers. Our Confreres joined our Achievers for a Barbershop conversation, HBCU Night
with the Clippers and Saturday afternoon bowling, where they had real conversations,
shared life lessons, and were schooled on perfecting their strike game.
We appreciate our Confreres’ willingness to share their time and talent with the Achievers.
