Case StudyProject BackgroundSouth West Water has developed a new £60million state-of-the-art water treatment worksto serve Plymouth and the surrounding area. The project will represent the first time that severalnew innovative technologies have been used inthe UK. We were pleased to be able to assist withthe provision of flexible dual contained dosinglines from our Double Safe range together withmatched fittings and catch pot. These provided theinfrastructure for the transfer of various chemicalsfrom storage tanks to the dosing kiosks and to thefinal point of application to service many of thesenew processes.Partnership Approachand SolutionBy adoptinga partneringapproach todelivery we werejointly able to developthe scope of the solutionhaving regard to the larger scope ofworks on the project. Our TF Double Safe rangeof dual containment was selected and formedthe foundation of the solution. It has been developed and used widely in thewater treatment sector over a number of yearsas a cost-effective solution that allows selectionof carrier material to suit the media and otherrequirements. This flexibility also proved importantfor the terminations utilising the physical “air gap”between the containment tube and the carrier.Allowing us to better match the differentconnection requirements and sizesWe worked closely with thecontractor that had been awardedthe chemical dosing installationand types of the various dosingkiosks and equipment. Thisincluded offering tank/POAfrom an early part ofpass through solutions andthe process.custom spigot tails.Process Engineering Supplies13
