Opulence and Fantasy: Couture Gowns and Jewelryof Mindy Lam is the by-product of a pandemicsilver lining. At the beginning of 2020, Mindy’scompany was really rolling, with events andtrunk shows scheduled out for months. Wheneverything had to be canceled, Mindy panicked,briefly, and then she dug deep and dusted offthat resilience that had allowed her to pivot sosuccessfully before. She changed her perspectiveand spent a week meditating on the purpose ofthe pandemic. Her ultimate dream was to haveher work in museums, not in the shop, but asexhibited art. This was her time. In May 2021,Mindy Lam will have two exhibitions on view intwo art museums. She is grateful.Mindy’s dance with the Universe is far fromover.
