Coming from a different secondary
school, the Sixth Form was challenging
at first but it enabled me to experience
new teaching styles, methods and
subjects which facilitated a broader
learning experience. This meant I
was able to deepen and expand my
knowledge in subjects I hadn’t previously
considered including critical thinking,
professional questioning and, importantly,
manners. Equally, sitting in a muddy
trench during Combined Cadet Force
expeditions or spending days in rough
seas kayaking along the South Coast
before watching the sun set around a
campfire during my Duke of Edinburgh
Award were incredibly humbling and
unforgettable experiences.
I truly believe that Warminster was
instrumental in ensuring that I faced
the next chapter of my life with the
confidence and resilience necessary,
not only for university, but for life
beyond too. I developed the art of
conversation and delivery through
interaction with teachers, pupils and
parents alike. I found the personal
support throughout Sixth Form was
excellent; from UCAS presentations
to gap year ideas, career options
and invaluable advice with our
personal statements.
My peers and teachers
motivated me and
inspired me every day
with the effort and
love they put into
teaching and studying.
