CHAIN
HOUSE
PONTY
PRIDD
Have you ever had that feeling when you’re one of the first to
discover a new up and coming band ? You follow them, and watch
as they develop and become ever more popular, then you hear loads
of other people talking about them, and you smile smugly to yourself
and think, “I was there from the start”. Well, that’s the feeling we had
about these new kids on the block that have recently launched their
very first restaurant in Pontypridd.
Pay them a visit. Catch them early on. Enjoy.
They are destined for great things!
Local friends Dewi Gray and Lewis Dwyer
always imagined that one day they would end up
working together. Having seperate successful
careers in well respected restaurants ( Dewi at
the Otley Brewery pubs and Lewis at the 2 AA
Rosette Copthorne Hotel at Culverhouse Cross ),
fate eventually worked its magic and in April
of this year, they launched their first restaurant
in Pontypridd.
Chain House is a welcome departure from the
norm around these parts. It’s a very intimate,
bijou bistro - the sort you would normally
associate with the super trendy areas of
Hoxton or Shoreditch in London’s East End.
In fact, it is one of the duo’s missions to bring
a fine dining experience into the Valleys, and
so far, they are on target.
Pancakes, Bacon, Maple Syrup & Fresh
Blueberries for the ‘sweet toothed’
From a compact kitchen, the duo manage to
conjure up handsome plates of food that will
delight even the most discerning of diners.
The menu changes regularly, in accordance to
the availability of the seasonal produce on offer.
Dishes are unpretentious, yet packed full of
colour and flavour. Table space is limited, so
we’d advise you to book in advance (but don’t
despair as you can also bring your own plate
on a Sunday and ‘take-away’ a roast dinner !).
Chain House raises the bar with dainty,
perfectly formed plates of lushness

The multi-award winning Hardwick is a class act - so much so that Michel Roux Jr names it as his
favourite restaurant in Wales. Executive Chef and owner Stephen Terry takes great pride in sourcing
as many ingredients as locally as possible, and this shows in the exquisitely prepared dishes on offer.
To accompany a menu that punches well above its weight for choice in this size establishment, you will
also find a quality selection of wines, champagnes and spirits to choose from.
