My time at Warminster was actually
the BEST TIME of my entire school life.
Warminster, and especially boarding at
Warminster, was a great experience.
It was not just the superb teaching
standards, but also the rich and warm
social life that the School offers.
When I arrived at Warminster I was
really nervous because it was the first
time I was going to a new school in a
different country. When I arrived I was
surprised to see everyone in the
boarding house being so welcoming and
nice. I think the highlight of Warminster
is that teachers and staff really make an
effort for each person to feel welcome
and help them achieve their goals. I never
imagined I would make so many great
friends and have memories that I will
cherish for the rest of my life.
Day to day my experiences as a boarder
in Stratton House had an enormously
positive impact on my time at university.
I didn’t experience any of the ‘settling in’
anxiety that so many undergraduates feel
as I was straight into my studies and had
the confidence to join social groups and
immerse myself in sport and drama.
I had already learned the valuable lesson
that the more you put into something,
the more you get out.
For a overseas pupil like me, becoming
fluent in English and confident to use
it on a daily basis is definitely a core
competence to be listed here. However,
there is more. Living away from home,
but still in a protected environment,
helps you to become more independent.
It is a first step into adulthood which in
turn gives you a sense of achievement
and self-esteem.
I have a young daughter of my own now
and I hope that one day she, too, will
attend Warminster and have the same
great experience that I had.
It was not just the superb teaching standards,
but also the rich and warm social life that the
School offers.
