Sport was, and still is, an important part
of my life and by playing regular sports
fixtures I learnt the value of teamwork
and determination. From getting involved
with the School magazine to organising
the summer ball, I learnt the importance
of being able to balance responsibilities in
day to day life. In my current job as a
graphic designer I work in an enormously
stimulating and rewarding environment
where every day is different. My time at
Warminster really helped prepare me for
this type of work ethic where I am
challenged and stretched daily.
I feel I was instilled with a solid work
ethic, inspired not only by all the amazing
staff at Warminster, but by watching and
learning from other pupils too. Being part
of different friendship groups, learning
how to balance my time, and knowing
what it’s like to be a team player has
assisted me enormously in my working
life. All the fundamental aspects of the
spirit of Warminster helped to shape me
as a young adult and propelled me into
the world of work with all the life skills
I needed.
I loved my time at Warminster. I was
there for 8 years and it taught me
independence, problem solving and
above all how diverse our world is. As
a civil engineer I am often asked how I
have managed to have such a powerful
role in an industry with less than 10%
female engineers on site. I would answer
that Warminster prepared me for that.
I learned that you can achieve anything
you want to but you must treat everyone
with respect.
