GREENHOUSE GAS PROTOCOL
— TRANSPARENCY
The Greenhouse Gas Protocol is a globally accepted
and widely recognised framework for measuring and
managing GHG emissions. Developed by the World
Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Business
Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), it
provides organisations with a standardised methodology for quantifying and reporting emissions.
By establishing consistent guidelines and principles, the GHG Protocol enables companies to track
emissions over time, set reduction targets, and
implement effective emission reduction strategies.
This framework helps organisations understand and
manage their environmental impact by identifying
emission sources, assessing their carbon footprint,
and prioritising reduction opportunities.
Additionally, the GHG Protocol enhances transparency and credibility in sustainability reporting, allowing
stakeholders, investors, and customers to make
informed decisions based on reliable emissions
data. By adhering to the GHG Protocol, organizations
can demonstrate their commitment to addressing
climate change, improve operational ef昀椀ciency, and
reduce costs.
