STEFFCA'S EMISSIONS
— SCOPE 2
At STEFFCA, Scope 2 consists of indirect emissions
from the production of purchased electricity.
During the reporting period, STEFFCA’s total Scope
2 GHG emissions were 28,091 kilograms of CO2e,
accounting for 28.5% of the company’s combined
Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions. This 昀椀gure is derived
from a location-based calculation of the electricity
used, totalling 199 MWh with an average intensity of
130 kg CO2e per MWh, as well as the district heating.
STEFFCA is committed to reducing its electricity
consumption through the implementation of various

energy-saving measures. These include the installation of energy-ef昀椀cient lighting systems and equipment, which have signi昀椀cantly contributed to maintaining stable Scope 2 emissions over the years.
Despite these efforts, there has been an increase in
Scope 1 GHG emissions, which rose by 19% in 2023
compared to 2022 and by 34% compared to 2021.
This rise underscores the importance of continuing
to innovate and invest in sustainable practices to
mitigate environmental impact. The above increase
in the consumption of fuels is attributed to the company’s expansion.
