2024-2026 STRATEGY
Stakeholder Engagement
As part of the Strategic Planning Process,
we undertook a wide ranging stakeholder
engagement. The purpose of this Stakeholder
engagement was to solicit as wide a range
of inputs for the strategic planning process,
enhance existing relationships, create new
relationships and to build guidance and support
for the implementation phase.
20 Stakeholders were contacted and 15
engagements were conducted by phone or
email. A broad of stakeholders were included
across the State range, Voluntary and Private
sector. Different bodies that were contacted
included Government Departments, Adaptation
Companies, Motor Industry members and other
Charities. A full list is out lined below.
While there is a variable range of engagement/
awareness of the DDAI across stakeholder base,
there is a generally positive feeling towards the
Association and its purpose. Equally positive
is the strong desire among all stakeholders for
further engagement which is important as we go
about implementing our Strategic Priorities.
Opportunities for improvement and priorities
from the Stakeholders include, for example:
1. Better overall communication with
all stakeholders. A key theme of the
Stakeholder Engagement was a desire for
the DDAI to continue with the engagement
both generally to deepen relationship and on
specific issues.
2. Better engagement on specific issues. The
stakeholders recognised the subject matter
expertise of the DDAI in areas such as the
EU Parking Card and the Disabled Drivers &
Disabled Passengers Tax Relief Scheme.
3. Develop regional presence. Stakeholders
would like the DDAI to develop more of a
regional focus which could include offering
Driver Assessment in regional hubs.
