Operation Enable
What is Operation Enable?
Operation Enable is a multi-agency
initiative between the Disabled Drivers
Association of Ireland, An Garda Síochána
and the Irish Wheelchair Association
(IWA). The objective of the Operation is to
remind motorists of the need to respect
Disabled Parking Bays and to remind
Disabled Parking Permit holders of the
need to respect the conditions attached
to the permits.
At the launch of the Campaign, Sergeant
Peter Woods, DMR (Traffic) Division in Dublin
Castle appealed to motorists to respect the
disabled parking bays and said “We will be
working closely with County Councils and
Local Authorities actively checking permits
and enforcing the regulations in respect of
the Disabled Parking Bays”.
