Driving Services
On-Road Driving Assessments
For anyone with a disability, medical
condition or age related condition
beginning, continuing or returning
to driving after an injury or illness,
an on-road driving assessment may
be recommended by a medial health
professional to establish whether they
are fit to drive.
This could be for a multitude of reasons
particularly the presence or change of any
medical condition(s) or functional impairment
which may impact your ability to drive safely,
for example – cognitive impairment, stroke,
Parkinson’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis, traumatic
brain injury, spinal injury, amputation etc. Clients
are usually referred by their GP or consultant.

service from its head office in Ballindine,
covering – Mayo, Galway and Sligo regions.

EU Parking Permit Administration
The administration of the EU Disabled
Parking Permit scheme has been
conducted by DDAI under legislation
(Road Traffic Act 1998 as amended) since
1998. The volume and complexity of the
applications continues to grow. There
are now 10 members of staff dedicated
to the administration of the permit, but
it also occupies significant amounts
of time for other functions including
accounts and IT, in particular. The activity
makes a substantial contribution to the
organisations overall costs.

We currently receive 100 to 150 emails to the
dedicated parking permit email address daily.
