GROWIT GREEN
Think green
Grow local.
“Keeps taste, durability and appearance”
Kitchens contribute to lower resource consumption with
less food waste by growing herbs locally. Growing locally reduces transportation and
logistics whilst securing production when necessary. The kitchen performs the whole
process from seed to dish. The herbs are only harvested when needed.
This solution keeps it fresh and tasty making it a great appearance.
The method for growing is based on fast results. It is easy to learn how to use Growit Green.
It is straightforward to incorporate it into routines in the kitchen.
The Growing
Growing green shoots in between germination and the 昀椀rst set of leaves are called
microgreens, and takes roughly 5 to 21 days. Microgreens are sown as cress, by spreading
seeds on a hemp mat and misted. This starts the germination and within 3 days the seeds
will grow roots in the hemp mat. Industrial hemp is a sustainable material, which is used for
many purposes. For germination hemp is used as a capillary bridge for the seedling.
As seeds naturally contain nutrition, only water is needed in the growing period.
The Local Enviroment
With this solution, cultivation contributes to greener surroundings in the local environment.
The cultivation system has elegant looks of high quality, black steel and wooden boxes of
Nordic Oak. This makes it suitable to be seen by customers.
The system is designed, developed and produced in Denmark.
Packaging and storage capacity
1 box with hemp mats and seeds is enough to substitute more than 15 nursery grown trays
of microgreens. This means a reduction of over 94% cardboard and storage capacity.
GROWIT GREEN
Transportation
Seeds and mats have a high durability, which means delivery can be reduced to
monthly or quarterly deliveries, instead of weekly.
This means a saving up to 92% transportation.
