Educate, Adopt and Unleash.
The impact of climate change is now being seen
at both a global and local level. Sustainability has
become central to the agendas of an increasing
majority of organisations.
Businesses are increasingly acknowledging the
signi昀椀cance of taking action at a local level, aligning
with the global objective of mitigating the adverse
effects of climate change. There are multiple sources
of advice and information but too much information
can be confusing and misleading.
Actions for us
•
In order to promote energy ef昀椀ciency,
sustainability and a circular economy approach,
we will curate best practice and showcase this
on a dedicated page of our website. This will
provide case studies and guidance for achieving
Net Zero aspirations, whilst reducing the business
carbon footprint, which will also help with business
ef昀椀ciency by driving down energy use.
•
Upskill Chamber staff to conduct environmental
audits aimed at enhancing sustainability,
circularity and reducing environmental impact,
and energy use.
•
Support and promote training and upskilling
(such as Skills Bootcamps), for businesses to be
future ready, to embrace Net Zero aspirations and
to upskill current and future workforce in future
green skills for all sectors - linked to the Stoke-onTrent and Staffordshire Local Skills Improvement
Plan (LSIP).
