Where miracles happen
every day...
W9s Story
W joined St Elizabeth9s in 2017, and
demonstrated lots of physical behaviours
and limited vocabulary. He had little
awareness of social boundaries and did not
interact with his peers. We worked with W
using the 8Road to Success9 programme,
teaching him lots of self-help skills and
specific 24 hour routines. He is now road
safety aware, able to be independent on
site and is a fantastic friend to his class and
house mates. He is able to express himself
verbally, and learning new skills every
single day.
Owen9s Story
When Owen joined us in 2013, he was
totally PEG fed, and not able to manage his
medication independently. We worked with
everyone involved in Owen9s care to do a
rigorous medication review which involved
reducing doses in order to stimulate his
appetite. As a result, his PEG was removed
and Owen re-introduced food. He
developed in independence, and by the
time he graduated he was managing his
medication himself and taking responsibility
for his medication routine and doses.
