Gunner’s Best Girl
Gunner came to the SPCA of Texas as a stray. Despite being a tiny
boy at just 13 pounds, we knew he had a big heart. Gunner was quickly
adopted by a wonderful family and he is now the best of friends with
a very special ten-year-old human. You see, Gunner’s Best Girl was
diagnosed with cancer and her family was looking to find her a
companion who could help her through this difficult time. Pet therapy
is, after all, a wonderful thing. So, after an extensive search and visiting
what seemed like every single shelter in DFW, they arrived at the SPCA
of Texas.
The moment Gunner and his Best Girl met she knew he was the one!
Once the family brought him home, he was her shining light, her best
buddy, and just an all-around perfect companion! Gunner’s family
reports that he “is just what we all needed and more.” “Gunner is my
little baby boy,” said Gunner’s Best Girl. “I love to snuggle with him and
spoil him rotten. He makes me feel energized and when I’m lazy he’s
always there with a squeaky toy ready to play. When I get scared or
have anxiety about getting hospitalized then he makes me calm. When
we are ready to go to sleep, he snuggles by me and makes me feel safe.”
As a donor, your gifts make it possible for us to care for dogs
like Gunner until they find their new best friends.
