Saffron
Saffron is a sweet, 6-year-old cat who was found darting through traffic at a busy intersection. At first, he seemed to be a community cat and the original plan had been to trap,
neuter, vaccinate, and release him to a safe environment. Saffron, however, had other plans. While in our care, this handsome fella made it very clear that he would much prefer a life filled
with the company of a human, a comfy couch, crinkly toys and a reliable food schedule.
Saffron is also FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) positive, which is one of the most common diseases in cats around the world. Cats who are FIV positive can absolutely live a full and happy
life with some additional precautions taken by a vigilant family. With proper care at SPCA of Texas, Saffron was housed individually in order to protect his fragile immune system from potential
illnesses. Soon after making him available for adoption, we were able to see Saffron off to his forever home! Thanks in part to our generous supporters, our facilities are large enough to be
able to house cats according to their health and social needs, making stories like Saffron’s possible.
