Healing Hearts
Life for Janie has gotten much easier since she came to the SPCA of Texas. At the end of July, the 5-year-old
lab mix was rescued from animal cruelty. This sweet girl’s entire body was practically hairless, and her legs were
swollen, red and had open sores. She received extensive treatment at the SPCA of Texas. In fact, her case was
so severe that she needed additional care from a specialist. Thanks to donors, we were able to get Janie the help
she so badly needed, and after several months in foster care, Janie has the right combination of medication to
help her lead a wonderful life.
Janie no longer suffers from skin inflammation and itching, and her fur is slowly growing back. She is feeling
better than ever as vets, staff and her foster mom, Laura continue to provide her with the best of care. Janie has
gone through so much hardship but now this beautiful girl knows she is loved.
