“A beautiful and fantastic rope. I bought
it because of the amazingly high breaking
strength. Loved it so much, I had to buy another
one.”

WARNING: The misuse of fiber rope or
cordage can be dangerous. Rope will become
defective if damaged, overloaded, worn out,
improperly maintained or otherwise
mishandled. Rope failure may result in PROPERTY DAMAGE,

Abrasion Resistance - The capacity of a fiber or cordage
to resist erosion and breaking due to friction against
other fibers or rope components or a contact surface
which can be a piece of the rope itself.
Construction - The way in which the fibers of the rope
are formed, twisted, intertwined, or braided together.
Popular constructions include: static kernmantle, double
braid, solid braid, and hollow braid.
Core - An important component of rope that can be
constructed of either fiber or wire. The purpose of the
core is to reinforce the outer strands, or cover, and to
prevent them from bearing down against one another.
Cover - The outermost layer of synthetic fibers used to
construct the basis of a rope.
Creep - The length or rate at which the synthetic fibers
in the rope elongate irrevocably over a period of time.
Minimum Breaking Strength (MBS) - The lowest
acceptable load that would be expected to break or split
a single fiber strand in a tensile test conducted under a
specified procedure for a specific rope product.
Spliced - The fusing of two ends of rope strand or
cordage by interweaving or inserting these ends into the
body of a product.
Torque - The twisting force that synthetic rope or
cordage exerts when tensioned. Key components of a
rope’s torque characteristics are the number of strands
and lay direction.
Urethane Coating - Layer of urethane used to resist
the wearing and tearing of fiber rope strands. Urethane
provides a barrier against the effects of UV exposure,
ozone, salt air and most chemicals. It also retains the
elasticity of the rope even at low temperatures.
