LGBTQ+ Night Christmas Ballet Program 24-25 Reader - Flipbook - Page 2
Welcome to Smuin’s LGBTQ+
Night at The Christmas Ballet!
Smuin Contemporary Ballet was founded
in San Francisco. We are a product of this
city’s culture and people, and we are proud to
reflect our community. We believe love is love
and are deeply invested in our responsibility to
our queer artists, stagehands, administrative
team members, as well as our patrons.
Our first LGBTQ+ night was in 2019.
Each year, a portion of the evening’s proceeds
go to local nonprofits that directly aid
queer individuals. For 2024, Smuin will be
donating 25% of tonight’s ticket sales to four
organizations that are doing incredible work
for the Bay Area LGBTQ+ community:
Project Open Hand, Imperial Council of
San Francisco, The Sisters of Perpetual
Indulgence, and the Queer Cultural Center.

Thank you to Lady Camden for hosting
tonight’s celebration of community. You might
remember Lady Camden as former Company
Artist and choreographer Rex Wheeler, whose
choreography is included in both acts of
tonight’s performance. We are thrilled to have
Lady Camden onstage with us again, sharing
her artistry.
And thank you for being here tonight,
celebrating community, and being a part of
the Smuin family.
Happy Holidays,
Amy Seiwert
