The SiOO X Story – Protecting the Planet - Book - Page 39
protection is the name of the game, but building longevity and
end-of-life re-use of materials are also fundamental issues to
be factored into the equation. As a renewable material, wood
in all its manufactured forms offers new opportunities to radically rethink the way we conceive and build cities: protecting it
externally to maintain aesthetic delight, reduce maintenance,
and ensure extended lifespans is crucial to public acceptability.
In this regard, the innovation involved in the creation of SiOO:X
can be seen as prescient.
