WORK READY
The newest program at Signal Centers,
Work Ready is addressing two issues: the labor
shortage in child care and the employment rate
among lower-income citizens. The program will
recruit lower-income individuals to participate
in a paid internship in early childhood
classrooms while concurrently enrolling in
postsecondary coursework or training in early
childhood education.
The Work Ready staff are currently busy
recruiting interns and hosting child care
facilities where interns will be placed. These
internships will provide participants with
valuable experience while giving them a track
to full-time employment.
