In Susana’s environmental live sculpture/performance The Things We Leave Behind (image below) herartwork reflects on the human footprint on our environment.During the performance, the artist mummifies a model with netsand other residues from the fishing industry, all of them obtainedfrom a beach clean-up. The sculpture/performance highlightsthe impact of waste, resulting from the continuous production ofgoods in our societies.The mummy represents the idea of the human figure, and metaphorically the global society in which we live. In this visual game,Sanromán wants to show that everything we throw away will endup surrounding us.
