Algebra I Review
Grades 10 – 12
Prerequisite: Algebra I
Is your child ready for Algebra II? If your child needs a review of Algebra I in preparation for taking Algebra II, this class
will provide that review! Students will review the major concepts taught in Algebra I and will have the chance to practice
solving problems that reinforce those concepts under the guidance of their Algebra teacher. Students are required to
have a TI-84 calculator for this class.
Geometry Preview
Grades 9 – 12
Prerequisite: Algebra I
If your child needs a review of Algebra I fundamentals before taking Geometry or the college entrance examinations, this
course will provide that strong preparation. Students will learn the essentials of Geometry including basic vocabulary
(including notation), measurement geometry (perimeter, area, volume), properties of triangles, Pythagorean theorem,
and introduction to quadrilaterals. Students are required to have a TI-84 calculator for this class.
Pre-Algebra
Grades 9
Prerequisite: Eighth Grade Math
Would your child benefit from a head start in Algebra I? Having a solid foundation in basic arithmetic operations helps
students as they begin their studies in Algebra I. In this Pre-Algebra class students use a variety of methods to review
the fundamental principles of whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percentages in preparation for the Algebra I
curriculum. Students also receive a brief introduction to integers, exponential notation, scientific notation, and word
problems.
Classroom Skills
Computer Keyboarding
Grades 9 – 10
Does your child need to strengthen keyboarding skills in order to work more effectively on the computer? Students
in this Computer Keyboarding class will learn multi-sensory touch-typing and the skills needed to improve their
keyboarding skills. The goal for students is to improve their typing speed to be better than their best handwriting speed.
In order to ensure foundation skills are learned, no absences are permitted during the first week of class.
