Sports Club
Grades 3 – 6
Enhance your knowledge of soccer and basketball, while building on your sportsmanship skills. Students will work with
a specialty-trained Shelton coach for each sport to learn basic techniques. This class is ideal for both those new to
the sport and students that come with experience. Coaches will improve coordination and agility while working with
students in drills, conditioning, and games. Athletic shoes are required.
STEAM
Grade K
Children will explore science concepts with creativity through the STEAM lens (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art,
and Mathematics). This class will be hands-on and interactive with teacher-guided project-based learning. Children will
also build their problem solving and cooperative learning skills.
STEM
Grades 1 – 2
Students will explore coding, circuitry, and experiments in this science-focused class! Children will work with BeeBot robots to learn basic coding and computational thinking, build working projects from scratch using real, “grown
up” (but child-safe) components like batteries, wires, switches, LED lights, buzzers, and circuit boards, and conduct
teacher-guided experiments of basic science principles. This hands-on class promotes exploration, problem-solving,
creativity, and fun.
STEM Engineering
Grades 3 – 4
Students will program in a computer-free environment with a variety of coding technologies to reach a goal. Students
will design and code Ozobots to create an obstacle course, program a Sphero to represent their favorite animal
achieving their goals, design a system of alert sounds using Specdrums, and more!
Stop-Motion Movie Making
Grades 3 – 5
Does your child have a great imagination and enjoy making things? If so, this would be a wonderful class! They will
develop scenes using clay, paper and various other mediums. Then, they will learn to edit their video and share their
movie via email. By the completion of this class they will have created a stop-motion movie to share via email.
