CREAM CHEESE
Cream cheese can be used as a spread, dip or sauce base in both sweet or
savory dishes. Smooth and creamy, one of its primary ingredients is cream. A
starter culture is added to the cream and milk. The culture causes it to ferment
and creates cream cheese’s unique texture and flavor.
Neufchâtel, with 33 percent less fat than cream cheese, is similar to cream
cheese but lower in fat, higher in moisture, and softer in texture. Cream cheese
and Neufchâtel are available in various sizes and more than 30 flavors, including
strawberry, blueberry, and jalapeño.
