In Ekangala, Richards Bay, Wentworth and
Witbank over 190 young entrepreneurs
were reached through the ‘I AM PRENEUR’
programme which supports youth-owned
businesses with business skills training, coaching
and mentoring.
87 SMMEs across Ekandustria, Rustenburg
and Durban were supported through the
Enterprise and Supplier Development programme.
A total spend of R745 500 876 awarded
to SMMEs from opportunity identification
across the various supply chain categories.

Environmental
stewardship
Our national water systems are under
extreme pressure due to high levels of
plastic pollution. As a responsible corporate
citizen we endeavour to support initiatives
targeted at coastlines and inland water
systems such as rivers and streams.
Environmental education and
awareness focusing on oceans,
rivers and streams:
Through an interactive presentation
hosted by Aqua Amazing, sponsored by
Plastics SA, Sasol, Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife
and Umgeni Water, more than 25 000
pupils from 30 primary and
high schools in rural KwaZulu-Natal
and Mpumalanga were educated about
the devastating effects of pollution in
the oceans.
More than 3 000 pupils in
Amanzimtoti community and surrounding
schools participated in the Clean-up and
Recycle SA initiative in support of the
National Clean Rivers Weekend World
Ocean Day in KwaZulu-Natal.
