Sasolburg
The birthplace of Sasol 70 years ago, in the grasslands
just south of the Vaal River, the township of Sasolburg
emerged.
Sasolburg lies 80km to the
south of Johannesburg, and
today forms part of the Local
Municipality of Metsimaholo
which covers an area of
1 739 km2 and includes
Deneysville, Metsimaholo,
Oranjeville, Refengkgotso,
Sasolburg, Vaalpark and
Zamdela.
The Free State, and the
Metsimaholo communities face
multiple social and development
challenges. However, we
believe there are opportunities
for growth that require
expertise and long-term
partnerships. Sasol invests in
