The Accessible Qatar app and website
founded by Sasol provides
completed the rehabilitation of one passenger ferry, Baia
de Inhambane, which was damaged by tropical storm Dineo. It obtained
full sea-worthiness certification and is safe to transport passengers. This
has made commuting easier for communities.
We entered into Local Development Agreements (LDAs) with Inhassoro
and Govuro district governments enabling 13 000 people access to
off-grid electricity; 500 households access to on-grid electricity and
more than 4 000 people access to better and safer stoves. This
initiative is being executed in partnership with GIZ.
Completed the rehabilitation of three health care centres in Sofala
(Mafambisse Health Centre, Macharote Health Centre and Inhamizua
Health Centre), following destruction during Cyclone Idai. These centres
provide healthcare services access to over 75 000 community
members.
We completed rehabilitation of two schools in Inhambane –
Palmeiras Primary School and Chitsecane Primary school were renovated,
resulting in improved access to education for local communities.
Together with partners 35 km of National Road in Inhassoro district was
rehabilitated. Total value of combined investment was US$6 million.
