4 COLOUR 4.2 OVERARCHING PRINCIPLES
SASOL CI MANUAL
4.2 Overarching principles
Consistent colour application is vital to building our brand.
In order to ensure this, it is important to use the correct colour
specifications for the medium in which the communication will appear.
Our colour
Highlight important information
Discipline in the use of colour is necessary
for our communications to be clear and
readable. Our use of colour must enhance
communication, add hierarchy and pace.
Colour can help to create emphasis, clarify
hierarchy, and organise information on a
layout and highlight important information.
Use colours sparingly
Use colour to create a rhythm and to signal
places for the eye to rest when designing
pieces that span across multiple pages.
This will help to keep the content engaging.
When applying colour, it is always better
to practise restraint. Carefully select the
colours that will complement the overall
message and tone of the communication.
Create a rhythm
