Paid Time Off
VELCO offers paid time off (vacation time), based on years of service:

SICK Plans
VELCO offers two sick plans: SICK and SICK60. The SICK allowance is based on years of
service:

Employees may use SICK time for their own illness and medical appointments as well as to
provide care for family members who are incapacitated as a result of a physical or mental illness
and attend to a family member receiving medical, dental, or optical examinations or treatments.
SICK60 is paid at 60 percent of regular pay, and can be supplemented with available vacation
time (Paid Time Off) to bring the employee’s pay to 100 percent. SICK60 allowances are earned
based on years of service and are maintained on a rolling lifetime balance basis. Full-time
employees earn 160 hours (4 weeks) of SICK60 allowance for each year of continuous service;
annual contributions are made in January of each year.
