SAILFISH POINT
SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
HISTORY
Four men of Sailfish Point Golf Club built the Foundation in 1999 to provide scholarships
to qualified employees, their families and to the broader Martin County community.
In 2019, we set our sights on the next decade. Process moved online and is administered
through the Community Foundation of Martin County Partnership. The Sailfish Point
Foundation drives this process and maintains control over all scholarship decision.
SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS
TO SAILFISH POINT EMPLOYEES
We provide up to $2,500 annually to qualified employees who apply.
TO SAILFISH POINT EMPLOYEE DEPENDENTS
We provide $7,500 annually to qualified dependents.
These awards are renewable through graduate school.
MARTIN COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIPS
We provide $3,500 to qualified graduating seniors for college and vocational
programs. These scholarships are renewable for three years.
PROGRAM
The Scholarship Application is comprised of objective data including income, need, class
rank, GPA, ACT/SAT scores, work experience, community service, school activities.
Subjective data is derived from 4 essays and scored through a defined evaluation matrix.
PROCESS
Online application; scholarship committee evaluates, and top candidates are
interviewed. Decisions in March of each year.
