Sister Gertrude Morgan: The Mystic of New Orleans - Book - Page 62
I read the Bible every morning and held service in the
Everlasting Gospel Mission on Sundays and Thursdays. I was
also available anytime for anyone needing prayer or the laying
on of hands. I tended to the sick. I preached and sang, beat
the tambourine, clapped wood blocks together, or tapped
with a wooden stick. I liked to shout through the megaphone
to get the Spirit moving inside me and all around the room.
When that Holy Spirit came, you could feel it everywhere!
God used me in the prayer room, He gave me revelations and some
days later He gave me instructions for how to do it. God spoke to me
in the prayer room when I prayed on people’s cases.
I painted a poem about it that goes like this:
Christ is the head of this house the unseen host at every
meal the silent listener to every conversation.
All along the road to the soul true abode
there’s an eye watching you every step that you take
that great eye is awake.
