I painted other scenes from the Bible as well, including the
Parable of the Ten Bridesmaids from Matthew Chapter 25. They
all came to meet the bridegroom, but only five of the bridesmaids
came prepared with enough oil to keep their lamps burning all
night. The other five ran out of oil and had to leave to get more.
Well, guess what happened? When those five bridesmaids were
gone, the bridegroom came and they missed their chance to
enter the kingdom of heaven. Let that be a lesson to you, dear
ones! Be wise, not foolish—keep your lamp burning bright
so you’ll be ready to meet your God when the day comes!
