Sister Gertrude Morgan: The Mystic of New Orleans - Book - Page 20
I had to answer to my calling and one day
give up and pack up and go.
Are you a chosen vessel of God? Oh, it’s wonderful to be!
I was called to sing with a loud voice to call
men, women, girls, and boys.
At that time, I was living in Columbus, Georgia and attending
Rose Hill Memorial Baptist Church. That’s where I spent the
longest life and where I served God starting around 1917.
God moved me and had me sanctify my life for Him. He filled
me with the Holy Ghost, that of Him I will lean upon.
Once I get a message from God to go out and do something,
nothing can stop me because He shows the way. After I started
painting, I used whatever materials God provided. Once I painted a
church on a Styrofoam meat tray. God put that food on Prophetess
Morgan’s plate and then I used that package to spread His Word!
