During the COVID-19 pandemic, Blue Arrow
and its dedicated temporary workforce played
a crucial role in supporting local communities in
managing and recovering from the virus’ impacts.
Blue Arrow’s temporary workforce directly 昀椀lled critical
vacancies for the Government response to the pandemic:
Hospital services
99,583 shifts supplied
Our considerable catering workforce were displaced, with the industry
effectively put into lockdown for several months. Our recruiters worked
hard to redeploy these valuable workers, including cleaning personnel,
to take on roles such as vaccinators, ward and patient ambassadors,
hospital cleaners, call centre staff for track and trace services,
and public service operators for emergency lines 999 and 111.

Blue Arrow also served as a primary staf昀椀ng hub with its technology
platform being used by a cooperative of 昀椀ve recruitment agencies to
staff the wide range of roles required for the NHS Track & Trace service.

During the 昀椀rst 12 months of the pandemic, while
much of the country was shielding, furloughed, and
working from home; online shopping increased by 74%,
and home deliveries increased by 50% year-on-year.
Blue Arrow helped grocery retailers and e-commerce
businesses all over the UK remain operational and meet
the huge increase in demand for retail, customer service,
warehouse, and distribution staff.
