In the 50’s the
Thames was
considered dead,
the 昀椀sh did come
back but now we
are killing them
with plastic.
The Plastic Blitz annually collects and clears rubbish,
to ascertain the quantity and type of rubbish we collect,
enabling us to compare data year on year.
This process is having a positive e昀昀ect. Thames 21 are
able to use this data to lobby big businesses to
encourage change in package design to reduce or
eliminate single use plastic.
We encourage Rotary Clubs to organise ‘Clean-Ups’ at
any time of the year, but more importantly to educate
the public on what they are doing, why they are doing
it, and try to encourage a change of habits.
