Most plastics will take hundreds of years to fully
degrade.
Plastic breaks down into very small particles called
micro plastics - 3mm or smaller.
Micro plastics get into our drinking water and are
absorbed in the food we eat.
Car tyres are made of a form of plastic, not rubber as we
all thought, and the debris washes into the water table
and into our rivers.
Many domestic products like washing powder and suncream contain plasticises, or nano plastic
Many people think we ingest up to 2kg of plastic per
year and it goes on………
Unfortunately micro plastics get absorbed by our
organs and we are not really sure what damage they
might be causing.
