The End Plastic
Soup campaign
started in 2018 by
the Rotary Clubs of
Amsterdam and
has spread to
Rotary and
Rotaract Clubs in
over 60 countries
throughout the
world, run by and
for Rotary and Rotaract clubs, including the UK. Rotary’s
EndPlasticSoup is truly international, with about 90
ambassador clubs representing EndPlasticSoup in their
district, local actions for awareness, very active
communication via social media and WhatsApp groups,
bringing together ideas and projects from all over the world.
These projects are often in partnership with other national
and international organisations.
Projects around the world include education, waste
management and river and lake clean ups from Honduras,
Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia to Egypt, Ghana, Uganda,
Turkey, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Holland, Germany to the
Balkan and Eastern Europe countries along the
mediterranean and the Danube river. We are currently
establishing our own action group in the Thames Valley. In
2022 we are starting the Thames Valley clean up identifying the source of pollution and working with other
interested groups, disposing of the rubbish in an
environmental way and increasing public awareness of the
problem.
