Support YOUR Schools in Environmental Action
Schools are
becoming
increasingly
socially aware, and
many children are
now educating
their parents about
the harm plastics
cause.
Our young people
are the future, and
if we can help
them understand
the devastating
impact of singleuse plastics.
We have a chance to make lasting change. By training them
to take responsibility for recycling and proper disposal, we
can work towards ending the blight of plastic pollution in our
rivers and oceans.
But where does litter really come from? Is it their older
siblings and young adults who throw cans, bottles, and fastfood packaging from their cars on the way home from work
or a night out? If we want to break this cycle, we need to
start early—by equipping young people with the knowledge
and tools to drive change.
Most Rotary Clubs already have strong relationships with
schools through youth competitions, Young Enterprise, and
literacy programs. Some schools are even involved in the
Plasticblitz—so let’s build on these connections and engage
schools in environmental projects!
