known facts about
plastic.
BIN IT
Most plastics will take
hundreds of years to fully
degrade.
Plastic breaks down into
very small particles called
micro plastics - 3mm or
smaller.
Micro plastics get into our drinking water and are absorbed
in the food we eat.
Car tyres are made of a form of plastic, not rubber as we
all thought, and the debris washes into the water table and
into our rivers.
Many domestic products like washing powder and suncream contain plasticises - plastic
Many people think we ingest up to 2kg of plastic per year
and it goes on………
Unfortunately micro plastics get absorbed by our organs
and we are not really sure what damage they might be
causing.
