What can we do?
There is no one answer, and one
size does not 昀椀t all, if you have
ideas you think we should include let
us know.
Litter picking and clean-ups are only
the start of our campaign to clear
plastic from our environment.
The big Plasticblitz is from May 31st to June 15th and we want
as many clubs as possible to take part and enter data for the
national survey, but that is not to say you cannot run cleanups
throughout the year.
Awareness is key, encourage your club to work with other
environmental groups, members of the public can often be
encouraged to help your collection.
ENGAGING WITH THE PUBLIC IS A GREAT WAY TO
RECRUIT NEW MEMBERS
Talk to the schools and colleges they may well want to join
you in your Plasticblitz or they may want to run their own, help
them either way.
Don’t just stop at a Plasticblitz , talk about the problem to
everyone. In schools you can organise events and
competitions - It maybe that you can help another group enter
the Plasticblitz.
This is great, go for it
but do encourage
them when they enter
to go via the Rotary
and associated
orginisations link on
the T21 web page.
