A physician from John Hopkins wrote a book called Accountable
about the problems with hospitals and their lack of accountability
in iatrogenic care, often called medical violence.
This is when people are hurt by medicine, and badly, like when
they experience trauma, whether from the dentist, or any other
provider, and suffer. It's often prescription drug related.
Conventional medicine is good for emergency care, and
unavoidable surgical procedures. That's been established.
It's useful for the impossible cases that holistic medicine can't
really touch. This usually involves illness to the point of no return,
past the point prevention and total symptom reversal.
I do appreciate the history of disease-mapping and symptomclassification which is very helpful and gives holistic providers a
point of reference.
