Yesterday's winners
The TBIB Open Butler field has been trimmed to
an elite filed of ten pairs.
Favourites would be Avi Kanetkar and George
Kozakos, who went through Stage 2 undefeated.
It's a strong filed with some names you may not
recognise.
George Stockham & Alexander Hewat are from
Canberra. Kevin Skoropada & Moss Wylie are
New Zealanders. (No Playoff Points for them!)
The lists of qualifiers to the Open and Mixed finals are on page 2.
Speaking of elite groups of 10, here is a joke
from Coleta

WInners of ANC Swiss A
To avoid being decimated, the troops were
attacking in groups of nine.
Decimated is a word that has lost it's meaning
over time. Originally, decimation was the execution of one in 10 soldiers from a group that
had mutinied or deserted.
These days you might hear a tennis commentator describe a 6-1 6-0 drubbing by saying
"She was literally decimated out there." Alas,
literally is also widely misused.
