Find a map to help you with walks around town at the Visitors
Centre.
Visit parks around town, particularly
beautiful Cook Park in Summer Street
between Clinton and Samson Streets.
Elephant Park and adjoining
Moulder Park are large enough to
walk through for exercise and pleasure.
Visit the Orange Botanic Gardens
300 Hill Street and have a
cofee at the Eat Botanic Cafe. Cycle or drive to Gosling
Creek Reserve which is not far past the Orange Health Service
(Hospital) at 28 Forest Road. Shared paths suitable for roller
blading, walking and cycling, there are picnic/barbecue areas,
children9s play equipment and even oshing in the reservoir.
Extinct volcano Mount Canobolas Gaanha Bula is 1390 m
above sea level so head to the summit for wonderful views of
Orange and surrounding area. If you are thinking of walking one
of the trails in this area make sure you plan ahead and are aware
that the steep and possible icy tracks might be very slippery.
Enjoy the early morning Bird Walk lead by Neil Morrow at 8.00
am on Sunday July 14, Meet inside the botanic gardens near the
function centre building. No bookings needed, just turn up. You9ll
need to wear warm clothes, sturdy shoes, and take binoculars and
a walking stick if you need one. No cost but a donation to Friends
of the Botanic Gardens would be welcome. Have a cofee
afterwards at nearby Eat Botanic.
