In 2024 alone, over 22,000 preschoolers in Addis Ababa
participated in our program every school day, equipping
them with tools for lifelong learning and resilience. With
more than 1,200 newly trained teachers, our efforts are
transforming classrooms into inclusive and engaging
learning environments.
The results are clear:
Children in our program
are 3x more likely to be
ready for first grade
than their peers.

APPROACH
Integrate play-based, trauma-sensitive learning models
in government preschools and encourage families to
take a more active role in their children’s education.
We are collaborating closely with government officials
to facilitate the long-term and widespread adoption of
play-based learning as the best method for children to
develop their love of learning.
KEY ACHIEVEMENTS
• Trained over 1,200 new teachers to create lasting
change in classrooms.
• Decreased Ethiopia’s learning poverty rate, where 9
out of 10 children currently cannot read at grade level
by age 10.
