Rijk Zwaan’s contribution to the
Sustainable Development Goals
• •
In 2015, the United Nations adopt the so-called
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to address
major global concerns such as poverty, hunger,
inequality, climate change and the biodiversity
crisis. The goal of these seventeen SDGs is to
achieve a greener, fairer and better world by 2030.
As a global player, Rijk Zwaan feels a responsibility
to make an important contribution, in cooperation
with others (governments, knowledge institutes,
private sector), in order to achieve these goals.
In 2021, many industry associations and companies
of different sizes and from different corners of the
world come together to sign the Seed Sector Declaration, in which they commit to actively contributing
to achieving the SDGs. Rijk Zwaan is also one of the
signatories of the Seed Sector Declaration.
An independent analysis shows that Rijk Zwaan
is making a major contribution to the key components of the SDGs.
