Captain David “Joey” McCutcheon

Hometown: Church Stoke
Captain Joey McCutcheon joined the
Light Infantry in 1997 at the age of 17
and in 1999 was promoted to LCpl
whilst stationed in Cyprus with 1LI.
He has deployed to Northern Ireland,
Sierra Leone, Iraq and Afghanistan on
Operations and visited over 30 countries
on Training Exercises. Joey's adventure
training activities include cycling across
Europe and Scuba-Diving in the Red
Sea and the Barrier Reef in Belize.
Commissioning in 2019 from Regimental
Serjeant Major 1 RIFLES, Joey continues
to serve The Rifles as the Rifleman’s
Adjutant.
Lance Corporal John George joined E
Company 6 RIFLES in Shrewsbury in 2016.
He was attached to 1 RIFLES for training
in Belize in 2017 and was subsequently
promoted to Lance Corporal in 2018.
In 2019 he joined 8 RIFLES on exercise
in Slovenia. He is thoroughly enjoying
reserve service and hopes to attend the
Section Commander's Battle Course in
2021.
In his civilian life, John farms on both sides
of the Shropshire/Montgomery border.
