On Passing out of training in June 2015,
Rifleman Ethan Loveless joined 4 RIFLES
where he deployed on two overseas
exercises to Canada. In January 2018
he transferred to 5 RIFLES and gained
experience on two more deployments to
Canada and an international integrated
exercise In Louisiana, USA. He also
deployed to Cyprus for six months with
the Regimental Shooting team where he
won multiple competitions.
Colour Serjeant Alex Miller’s childhood
was split between Dorset and Germany as
his father was a serving officer in the Royal
Armoured Corps. Alex first joined the Army
in September 1989 with the intention of
gaining a commission, but decided to go
to university instead.
Ethan will soon be attempting a Potential
Junior Non-Commissioned Officers
(PJNCO) Cadre in order to gain promotion
to Lance Corporal.
Alex re-joined as a Territorial with 4th
Devon and Dorsets in January 1996. Since
then he has steadily progressed through
the ranks and is currently 2IC of the Mortar
Platoon. Alex has deployed on operations
to Bosnia, Iraq and Afghanistan, and
Cyprus. He lives in Lulworth with his son
and dogs.
