FREQUENTLY
ASKED
QUESTIONS
How do I know my child is safe?
All our staff are Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checked and will display an ID badge. Also, we will
ask you upon registering whether your child has any medical conditions or learning disability. Then, we can
make appropriate arrangements.
For registration and dismissal, parents and carers are issued with a security code (QR code) to drop-off and
collect their children. When the code is scanned, the designates parent’s number recieves a SMS in
real-time, notifying that their children have been dropped-off/collected.
Do I need to send my child with lunch and snacks?
Yes, send your child with cutlery, packed lunch, snacks and enough water for the day. For the avoidance of
doubt, we do not provide lunch. We do not heat children's lunch to avoid cross-contamination.
Due to many children being allergic to nuts, we would greatly appreciate it if you could send your child with
nut-free meals and snacks.
What is the adult/child ratio?
Our standard ratio is 1:15. For technology sessions, our ratio is 1:8. For younger children aged 4-8, our
ratio is 1:6.
Can parents observe a session?
No. We do not allow parents to stay and observe a session. There is nothing to worry about we have tutors,
mentors and supervisors in the room and in the science lab who are highly qualified and trained with a
great wealth of experience working with children aged 4-17.
Is your staff First Aid trained?
Yes, there is always an adult in the room and/or in the science lab specialised in paediatric first aid training
certified by the British Red Cross.
Can I have an insight of the power points, teaching resources and/or lessons before or
after the actual session occurs?
We just facilitate the topic and a brief overview. We do not provide parents, carers and/or children with
powerpoints, teaching resources and/or lessons. At the end of each day parents received a Fact Learning
Sheet (FLS) which is a summary of what children did during the day.
